Farewell Lilly
Emotions have been high at Scratch as we bid farewell to multiplatform writer, Lilly Delmage. Following a year of full-time employment at Scratch (plus multiple work experience placements since 2019), Lilly has left to pursue a new venture in content creation. Seeing stars at
The Scratch Stars Party
The highlight of the Scratch team’s calendar: The Scratch Stars Party, took place on Sunday 6 July at The Underglobe, London. Over 300 nail industry personnel and their peers came together not just to reward excellence, but honour the talent and unwavering dedication that define the vibrant UK&I nail sector. Hosted by Helena and TV personality, Jeff Brazier, the event saw the winners in 18 Scratch Stars Awards categories announced and featured a live performance from UK garage act, Artful Dodger. Turn to page 24 for more snaps and insights into the event.

on the pod
Helena was invited to sit on the other side of the interview table and appear on Susan Routledge’s Beauty Business Matters podcast. The esteemed industry mentor quizzed Helena on pricing matters in the nail sector, challenges for pros and the benefits of competitions. The episode is available on platforms including Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and can be watched on YouTube by scanning here.
In the office
Student, Lola Alayande, joined team Scratch for media work experience. She scoured our social feeds for nail art inspiration, compiled online galleries and contributed to a number of articles for this month’s edition of the magazine, including Fingernails in Focus and Nail Clippings. It was a delight to introduce her to the world of nails – and she put smiles on our faces with a donut delivery on her last day!
What we’re wearing...
Rebecca took a trip to Orpington salon, Trendy Beauty, for her Scratch Stars Party mani. She opted for a gold glitter gel polish overlay courtesy of beauty therapist, Grace.
Chrome details called for Helena, who sought a gold, sparkly mani to complement her Scratch Stars Party outfit. Rebecca Ellis of Beauty By Beck, Dartford, used a shimmery builder gel to enhance Helena’s natural nails, topped with a double French-style in gold chrome paint. The look was finished with stars and Bluestreak Crystals gems.
