Nail artist & entrepreneur, ABBI ROGERS, unveils her colourful career journey & favourite creations

Name – Abbi Rogers

Age – 33

Business name – Abbinail, and my salon name is Ace Of Nails.

Location – Digbeth, Birmingham, UK.

Years in nails – Five and a half.

Trained with – I studied Interior Design at university, and went on to work in the industry for around five years. I found the job to be stressful, but it was great to be creative each day and design amazing spaces for people to live in. Nail styling has always interested me, and when the interiors company I worked for went into administration, I saw it as a sign to enrol on a nail course. I loved it, and now co-own a salon. I never thought I’d reach the success I have so soon, and would encourage others to pursue their dreams.

Favourite products – I use the black BrillBird Brush & Go Colour Gel in 02 for chrome application, detailing, outlining and more. It’s been an essential in my nail kit for four years. I use an E-file from The Nail Lab and always prep nails with a Sciver bit.

Favourite nail technique – Anything that gets the dopamine flowing. I love being given a vague brief from images my clients show me, and creating something original using my trusty fine liner brush.

Favourite nail design – Colourful, bold and complicated looks, as they are the most satisfying to create.

Career ambition & vision – I am so proud of my progress and that I co-own a salon just five years into my nail journey. I want to continue to ensure a safe and happy working environment for my clients and colleagues, and share my designs and knowledge with others. I’d like to increase my confidence when speaking to fellow pros at events, and the Niche Nail Network community has been helping with this.

Who do you admire in the industry? This industry requires graft, so I admire everyone within it. I wouldn’t have achieved what I have in the salon without my business partner, Nat, and Chan Johnson, co-founder of Clawgasmic, is a ray of sunshine in the industry.
