Level up your nail know-how with LEU 2.0: Light Elegance’s evolved education programme for pros passionate about growth & success

Light Elegance, the Portland-based company renowned for safe, reliable and innovative professional nail products, has updated its education programme: offering elevated classes to inspire, upskill and empower nail techs.

Elaine Watson

“The brand has introduced a variety of products since the original Light Elegance University (LEU) was founded, so LEU 2.0 has allowed us to enrich our education offerings,” shares Elaine Watson, global education director at Light Elegance. LEU can be accessed online at any time via a smartphone, computer or tablet, and is designed for nail pros who are keen to elevate their skills, confidence and careers. Various classes are available, in addition to the LEU Bachelor’s Degree: a comprehensive learning experience designed so that students can master Light Elegance products and techniques from the ground up.

“In addition to new content, we’ve prioritised an enhanced user experience,” Elaine continues. “We recognise the growing difficulties and costs associated with in-person education, so LEU delivers a compelling alternative, with advanced training and expert instruction. The online platform is modern, streamlined and exceptionally easy to navigate, and the curriculums are rich in practical assignments, which are subjected to detailed reviews and feedback.”

Jojo Wickens

“Light Elegance is excited to expand its offerings and introduce new learning opportunities. I encourage you to explore LEU and embark on an exciting journey of professional growth.”

Jojo Wickens, LEU dean of students & head of education at Light Elegance UK, has been heavily involved in developing LEU over the past two years and is excited to open enrolment to nail enthusiasts in the UK and Ireland. She comments: “LEU embraces a unique, hybrid approach to accredited training, combining the flexibility of online theory with the invaluable hands-on experience of in-person training. This approach ensures that students gain both the theoretical foundation and practical skills that are essential for success.

“We’ve assembled a team of passionate educators who have completed an intensive Light Elegance UK educator bootcamp and are keen to share their expertise. Online-only options are available for most courses, with more to follow, so learning can take place at the student’s desired pace from a space of their choosing. Student kits are also available, containing everything needed for each course.

“LEU has something for everyone: from a beginner eager to master foundation techniques, to a seasoned professional seeking to refine their skills.”

Community ethos

To further support students, a community chat room has been integrated into the LEU platform. “The nail industry thrives on connections and shared experiences across geographic boundaries, and LEU provides a valuable space for students to bond over their passion for nails, exchange insights and support one another throughout their educational journeys,” Elaine shares. “Furthermore, this direct line of communication will allow us to stay attuned to the evolving needs of our students, enabling us to develop courses that address the topics and techniques most relevant to their growth.”

LE 313 – Mastering JimmyGel Building Base Gel

Mastering JimmyGel is a specialised elective course that can be taken in-person or online. It is designed to help perfect application, maintenance and removal techniques using JimmyGel soak-off builder gel, and delivers insight into creating structured overlays, natural-looking enhancements and quick repairs, as well as rebalancing.

LE 317 – Mastering the Zippy E-File

Currently available in-person, with an online option to come, students of LE 317 can learn how to speed up mani and pedi services and reduce strain from filing with Light Elegance’s Zippy E-file and bits.

LE 401 – Senior Seminar & Evaluation

This course dives into advanced techniques and troubleshoots common challenges. Students work closely with a LEU educator through live video sessions and receive personalised guidance and support. Every student who completes LE 401 earns a certificate of course completion. However, those who pass the two-part final exam, which includes a multiple choice test and nail extension assessment, receive a LEU Bachelor’s Degree plaque.

“Taking the course has given me the fundamentals I need to continue growing and perfecting my skills. The difference between my nail work at the beginning of the course and my final exam is night and day. I have goals and dreams for my business, and this course has put me on the right track to achieving them.”

LEU Bachelor’s Degree

This all-inclusive programme gives access to LE 101, LE 201 and LE 401, with a choice of an elective course: either LE 301 (art edition) or LE 313 (JimmyGel edition). The LEU Bachelor’s Degree covers product knowledge, shaping techniques and advanced enhancements, plus offers one-to-one coaching with a LEU educator. Whether you’re just starting out or are keen to refine your skills, this comprehensive education option provides the tools, training and certification to elevate your salon services and career.
