BEHIND THE GRAM
Get to know social media nail stars as they offer an insight into their lives & share content creation tips
My nail journey
I’ve always had a passion for painting my own nails, and joined the industry professionally in 2012 – bringing a big love for sparkle. I work under the business name of Ninja Nail Fairy, which was the name of my YouTube channel. My husband and I are the co-founders of Glitter Planet, a brand we started from our kitchen table. We offer professional nail systems under our Nail Mate branding, as well as nail art supplies.
What makes me happy
Seeing my family content, healthy and provided for. It brings me so much peace knowing they are OK.
A day in my life
Every day is different and always busy – but I love it! As an entrepreneur and content creator, I wear many hats. I start each day by getting my kids ready, before responding to customer emails, packing orders and creating content. It’s a fun time at the moment, as my husband and I are opening a Glitter Planet shop in Lancashire, offering order collections and in-store shopping.
FUN FACT
I enrolled on courses in law and psychology, alongside art and graphic design. However, after the first year of my studies, I decided to pursue a different path.

Career highlight
Creating the Glitter Planet brand and growing a supportive community of nail techs, all while building a family, is my greatest achievement. My three children have always been part of Glitter Planet.
Social media tips
I noticed my social media popularity increasing in 2015, and have continued to share my passion and knowledge since. I receive many beautiful messages saying that I’ve inspired people’s nail journeys. My content style is relaxed; I post what I’m interested in at the time and try to keep it fun. I think my audience likes that I am down-to-earth.
MY TOP TIPS ARE:
1. Create your own style. This allows clients and brands to see your personality.
2. Don’t be afraid to mix up your content. It’s OK to explore other areas you enjoy – have fun with it!
3. Do not compare yourself. I have been a content creator for over 10 years and still find it hard not to compare myself to others. However, everyone is on their own journey – and you should be proud of yours.
I was a finalist in the Scratch Stars Awards’ Social Media Star of the Year category last year, and it feels incredible to be in the top five again for 2026. I know I have a supportive community rooting for me.
Video advice
Good lighting is a must; I use a lamp from The Daylight Company. Also, make sure to film in focus – there’s nothing worse than blurry content!
