Discover the nail professionals, educators, salons & teams who showcased their skills & reaped success in the 12th annual Scratch Stars Awards

For 12 years, Scratch has championed the artistry, passion and dedication that define the vibrant UK&I nail industry via the Scratch Stars Awards. Tailored to recognise not just technical skills, but business acumen and customer care, the accolades are presented to all-rounders: individuals and teams that raise the standard of the sector through exceptional everyday practice.

As the industry and its trends evolve, so too do the awards categories. This year presented 18 options for entrants, who submitted entries in February and March. These were evaluated to determine five finalists in each category, who progressed to a second and final judging stage.

Some finalists had to submit portfolios of work and testimonials, while others were mystery shopped or required to complete a nail task at a live judging event. Scored by esteemed industry experts, points were amassed to determine a winner in each category, and these winners were revealed at The Scratch Stars Party in London last month.

The camaraderie amongst the 90 finalists during the awards process has been wonderful to witness. While Scratch provides a platform to champion their skills, we have seen finalists championing one another: offering advice and encouragement to support their success.

It’s these individuals who help make our industry shine, and while we congratulate our 18 winners for 2024, everyone who entered these awards deserves to be applauded. Without passion and a desire to grow, the sector becomes stagnant, so competing proves a commitment to pushing the industry forward.

The scores this year were closer than ever before, with entrants bringing their A-games and elevating standards within the nail realm. Three professionals have entered the Hall of Fame this year, after scooping a third Scratch Star Award in their chosen category: a true testament to their focus on excellence.

Nail artist, Kirsty Meakin, scooped the Social Media Star of the Year award for the third time in 2023, so was presented with a Hall of Fame trophy at this year’s party.
