Trained with – On leaving school at 16, I completed a beauty course with Gerbera Beauty Training in Bourne, Lincolnshire. I discovered a love for gel nails, and have since trained with Blossom Academy online to add a builder gel enhancement option to my service menu. This has become my most popular treatment.
Favourite products – I’m a Halo VIP and love using the brand’s comprehensive range of products. My favourite gel polish shades are French White and Elise, a sheer nude. I also enjoy using Halo’s Jellie Tips to enhance the length of nails, before switching to builder gel when clients’ natural nails are the desired length.
Favourite nail design – I enjoy letting my creativity shine and crafting nail styles to complement my clients’ personalities and styles. A display stand in my salon features nail art options for clients to choose from, and floral designs and gonks are popular all year-round. I love adding a 3D nose to enhance their appeal!
Career ambition & vision – I’m delighted with my career progression to date. I was a finalist in the Hair & Beauty Awards 2024 and am excited to also be a 2025 finalist. I aspire to open a salon in my hometown and work alongside ambitious beauticians who offer a variety of treatments. I’d also like to offer nail courses and share my knowledge with beginner or qualified techs, with a focus on nail art.
Who do you admire in the industry?
When I became a Halo VIP, I began following Michaela Phillips of @gelalicious on social media, who is an educator for the brand. I love her nail work and hope to become as successful as she is.
