A spring celebration
Rebecca and Jess Watts headed to the Dream Nails salon in Blackwall Reach, London for an event hosted by AI nail art machine developer, Umia Beauty. The spring party brought together nail enthusiasts and artists to celebrate the launch of Umia’s seasonal nail designs, created by professionals including Scratch Stars Ultimate Gel Polish Stylist, Jiak Hing, and previous Scratch Stars Awards finalist, Jen Seales of @swaknails. When their designs are chosen, they are compensated by Umia and benefit from global consumers wearing their work. Plus, the Umia machine allows salons to offer nail art to more clients per day. At the party, Jess embraced the spring season by taking part in a flower crown making workshop, and Rebecca trialled the process of booking an appointment on the Umia app and selecting a seasonal design for her nails.

What we’re wearing...
At the Umia Beauty event, Rebecca opted for a floral design by Jiak Hing (@jark.nails).
To create a base for the multi-coloured flowers to pop, the Dream Nails team enhanced Rebecca’s nails with a milky white builder gel, before the Umia machine applied the artwork.
Helena embraced the spring pastel nail trend by choosing a minty green overlay at her most recent mani appointment. Nail pro, Rebecca Ellis of @beckthenailteck in Dartford, Kent, applied the seasonal hue over builder gel enhancements.
So.Shell chic
Jess Watts headed to Westfield London to learn about the Ukrainian manicure technique, courtesy of Marsha Sharova. The founder of London nail bar brand, So.Shell, hosted a Q&A on the method, sharing insight into its precise techniques and focus on long-term nailcare. The session was held as part of Westfield London’s 11-day ‘Feel the Frequency’ event, which involved workshops centred around boosting mood, focus and energy. This marked the launch of Westfield London’s expanded health and wellness offering at The Village, and Jess experienced a sensory sound bed that uses vibration and audio to aid relaxation.
