A FOND FAREWELL
Last month, we sadly said goodbye to news & features writer, Chloe Randall, who has moved on to explore new opportunities following three years at Scratch. We miss her already, but thank her for her dedication, passion and enthusiasm and wish her the very best.
Out and about
The GelBottle Inc held a party to celebrate the launch of its Après Ski winter nail collection, which comprises two cat-eye gel polishes and a magnetic tool, two metallic leaf products, three shimmering gel polish shades and two chrome pigments. Managing editor, Helena, headed to Obica, a venue in London’s West End that was transformed into a winter wonderland, and mingled with nail influencers, who took snaps of the products and enjoyed mulled wine and nibbles.

Senior news & features writer, Rebecca, attended the National Hair & Beauty Federation (NHBF) Top 100 Influencers Index 2023 event at St. John’s Church, London. The Index recognises industry professionals who use social media to influence, educate and innovate. Scratch Stars Social Media Star of the Year 2023 &esteemed nail artist, Kirsty Meakin, was awarded fifth place, and hair stylist, Chlöe Swift, took the top spot. Rebecca headed to London darts bar, Oche The Strand, for the PDC World Darts Championships Media Day, where she interviewed pioneering professional darts player, Fallon Sherrock MBE, about her love for sporting nail looks at dart events and the process behind her styles. Other famous darts names in attendance included Phil Taylor, Michael Smith and Michael van Gerwen, and following the event, the World Darts Championship draw took place at the venue. The Scratch team celebrated Christmas and marked the end of 2023 with a trip to London. We enjoyed lunch at Mrs Fogg’s in Broadgate Circle, before taking part in a team baking challenge in Haggerston, which saw us compete in pairs to produce a festive bake in 90 minutes. Accounts manager, Lisa Ebbens, and editorial intern, Carter Rogers, were crowned as winners.
