Where’s your nail nirvana?
Nailympia Competitions is experiencing a powerful surge in 2024, as just six months into the year it has served up two thrilling Nailympias: in Germany and Vietnam. As we look ahead, the team is about to dive into Premiere Orlando for its fourth edition in the Sunshine State.
I’m excited to reveal that Nailympia Mexico will be hosted in July, with the first Nailympia China to be held in the city of Hangzhou in August, followed by Nailympia San Antonio in September. The Nailympia 2024 calendar year will culminate in London at the Salon Beauty expo at ExCel in October.
For competitors keen to participate but unable to travel, there are postal entry options at all locations. Even more appealing is that all locations offer at least one poster competition, which can be entered via email. So, there’s an opportunity to enjoy the Nailympia experience in one format or another.
For art categories across the globe, there are some exciting themes available. In China for example, a fresh take on the Joy of Nails category sees it being held twice during the three-day event and for this location, both competitions are to be themed.
The first Joy of Nails invites competitors to create nails to the theme: The Landscape Of Hangzhou, the host city, and the second presents the theme: Chinese Dragon. Full Cover Creative, introduced for the first time, is based on presenting 10 full cover wearable nail tips (commercial) in the theme of Chinese Watercolour with Calligraphy.
Nailympia China also offers two poster categories: manicure and pedicure. So for those unable to travel to China this August, there are plenty of competition choices that can be sent via mail to the event.
Diving deeper into the Nailympia China event, the host has selected the Sheraton Wetland Park Resort in Hangzhou as its location. Creating a memorable and standout event, Nailympia will be presented as two days of competitions, followed by a show and the Nailympia Awards on the third day. For competitors, the Sheraton offers a truly authentic Chinese getaway adjacent to the wetland reserve. This location promises a sensational competition experience and vacation to remember.
THE NAILYMPIA GLOBAL CUP 2024
The global winner is calculated by adding the scores from Stiletto, L&P Acrylic Sculpture & Gel Tip & Overlay (or, depending on location, Acrylic Sculpture and Acrylic Tip & Overlay). These three chosen categories are highly technical, challenging and require elite skill levels and creative flair. These are undertaken in all active locations: currently Germany, Mexico, the USA, Vietnam, China and the UK. This trophy is awarded in London.
