N ergish Wadia-Austin & Helena Biggs
PHAB Service Stars was founded by Nergish Wadia-Austin, a dedicated and experienced industry expert who I have known for my entire nail career. She has been part of the hair, beauty, spa and wellness sectors for over 40 years, travelling around the world to consult, train and speak at major industry events. Nergish is a powerhouse of knowledge, particularly in relation to salon business development and retail techniques, and she and her advisory board have developed PHAB Service Stars criteria based on experiences of standout professionalism and success. The results? Elevated industry standards and recognition to those who deserve it.
Nergish Wadia-Austin
“A PHAB Service Star is earned by measuring customer count, repeat client visits and retail sales,” Nergish shares. “Other measures include customer testimonials, management confirmations, hygiene, safety and environmental practice.
“Being equipped with a PHAB Service Star is a great way to evidence professional excellence, which is helpful to consumers when choosing a hair, nail or beauty professional.
It’s also a great aid to business owners when recruiting new staff or considering promotions.”
The advisory board
Comprising 25 industry professionals, the PHAB Service Stars advisory board is focused on ensuring that selection criteria meets exceptional standards. Members include Millie Kendall OBE, CEO of the British Beauty Council, Andrew Barton, hair aficionado, and Gill Morris, expert beauty trainer.
I am proud to speak for the nail industry and beauty media in my role as advisory board member, and am joined by Samantha Sweet, co-founder of Sweet Squared, representing hair, beauty and nail distributors, and Avril Palmer-Fye, managing director at Magis Supplies Ltd. Avril represents small and medium-sized nail distributors.
