A glittering Gala
Immerse in the magic of the first Glitterbels Nailist Gala: a dazzling event where nail pros were rewarded & the brand was celebrated
HELENA BIGGS REPORTS
I t’s not often that an invitation for a black tie event pops into my inbox, but for the first Glitterbels
Nailist Gala
, I excitedly shopped online for a gown, booked a hotel and travelled to Stoke-on-Trent for what promised to be an exceptional evening celebrating the brand’s nail pro community.
Alex Fox & Helena Biggs.
The event was held to recognise esteemed members of the Nailist programme: a support system and rewards scheme that launched in early 2025, and offers business courses and perks for members. I attended the Gala with Scratch co-founder & Nailympia global director, Alex Fox, and we vacated our taxi at Glitterbels HQ: a converted church akin to a wonderland, featuring fuchsia pink spotlights that lit up the November sky.
We made our way into the dreamy venue, each greeted with a glass of Champagne before being led into a space filled with nail techs in their finery. A saxophonist played while guests marvelled at Glitterbels products, voted for the best nails of the night and took part in a game to guess the number of items in a jar for a prize. The room buzzed with conversation and connections, serving up a taste of the Nailist community that Glitterbels has cultivated: one that feels close-knit, positive and kind.
‘‘ Each Nailist member is a crucial part of the Glitterbels family, and together we can achieve anything. ‘‘
Glitterbels co-founder, Annabel Maginnis, and creative brand manager, Ebony Shepherd.
With bubbles in hand, we were led into the main room: the Glitterbels training area that had been transformed into an awards banquet. The brand’s signature pink aesthetic was elevated to gala-level grandeur, with draped chairs, florals on tables and twinkling candlelight enhancing the magical atmosphere.
Alex and I were seated at a table with Glitterbels team members who hold 10 Scratch Stars Awards between them: company co-founder, Annabel Maginnis; head & deputy head of education, Charli Jepson and Jennie Nippard; educator, Danielle Brindley, and creative brand manager, Ebony Shepherd. We enjoyed a three-course meal before Charli and Jennie took to the stage for a fun-filled Q&A session, and a preview was given of upcoming product launches.
The heart of the evening was the Nailist Awards, hosted by Annabel and Ebony, who made their way onstage to rapturous applause. Annabel shared: “Our goals at Glitterbels are to elevate education, transform careers, boost confidence and support our community. I hope that those who need advice, want to level up their skills or simply want to talk to fellow professionals, have found a safe space within the Glitterbels Nailist programme: a place where they can explore, grow and receive the guidance that they need.
“Each Nailist member is a crucial part of the Glitterbels family, and together we can achieve anything. Tonight, at our first Nailist Gala, we celebrate these achievements – no matter how big or small.”
Six categories celebrated the talent and dedication shaping the Nailist community, and nominees featured seasoned professionals and rising stars. The delighted winners, who each received flowers, a Glitterbels gift and glass trophy, were revealed as:

• Most Loyal Customer – Charlotte Bono
• Training Programme MVP – Nikita Kwiatkowski
• Nails of the Night – Rebeca Dinescu
• Business of the Year – Shimmer & Glimmer Nails by Ieva

Following the awards, the DJ, saxophonist and large cart of pick ‘n’ mix sweets kept energies high, and the content captured ensured the memories made would last well beyond the evening.
