What we’re wearing...
At the Daisy’s Diner launch event, Rebecca opted for two of The GelBottle Inc spring collection’s gel polish shades: creamy violet Milkshake and baby blue Sundae, wearing a different hue on each hand. TGB content creator, Daisy of @niicetips, added the Spectrum chrome over Milkshake and Lustre chrome over Sundae for a magical mermaidcore look.
A bold floral nail design by @lindseysbeautylounge1 caught Helena’s eyes on Instagram, so her nail tech, Rebecca Ellis of @beautyby__beck, Dartford, recreated the look with fuchsia, coral and sparkly bronze shades.
Out and about
Senior news & features writer, Rebecca, headed to Piccadilly, London, to celebrate the launch of The GelBottle Inc’s spring collection. Events space, NEON194, was transformed into Daisy’s Diner: the name of the TGB collection, which features 10 gel polish hues and four Studio Effects chrome pigments. The space showcased branded, diner-themed décor and attendees enjoyed manicures and sweet and savoury food delights. Upon leaving, guests were handed takeaway-style goody bags.

Rebecca visited London’s Curve Club for a panel discussion on waste in the beauty industry. It was organised by Boop, which retails brands’ imperfect, excess and discontinued beauty products that would usually be destroyed. The company’s founder, Yasmine Amr, was joined by eco-conscious beauty brand founders and influencers, who discussed sustainability trends and advice for beauty brands: from mono-material packaging and recycling schemes to refills and bioplastics.

With Nailing Disabilities founder, Yasmin Hodge.
Over 350 members of the nail industry – including Scratch’s managing editor, Helena Biggs, and co-founder, Scott Derbyshire – travelled to Solihull for the second annual Niche Nail Network event. Hosted by Isabel May of Nails Luxe, Gaynor McCann of NAILMAILl and Ashleigh Reid of NIBA Nailcare, the one-day extravaganza featured masterclasses, giveaways and shopping experiences, and gave an opportunity for pros to catch up with one another away from social media. Exhibiting brands included Light Elegance, Gelish, Home Of Nail Art, Nail Order and Katie Barnes Tool Range, and Helena spoke on a panel compered by Alex Philamond (profiled on page 72) about how to boost your business and succeed in the nail industry.
