My nail journey
I was 12 years old when I found a passion for nail art, and it quickly became my favourite hobby. I created an Instagram page when I was 15 years old, which featured a personal collection of nail designs, and unexpectedly gained many followers. Through the platform, I connected with nail artists across the world, but I then didn’t post for four years, as I completed a medical degree. Once I finished this, I decided to start posting on Instagram again, and in 2022 I pursued a profession in the nail industry and purchased a studio. I work part-time in healthcare and nails, but will soon be tekking and creating content full-time.
What makes me happy
Spending quality time with my dog, family and friends makes me happy. Creating nail art is also a big part of my personal life. Not only do I use it as a medium for self-expression, but I find it extremely therapeutic.
Dream client
I would love to create a nail look for singer, SZA. I am a huge fan of her music, and believe we could work together to fashion fun, eye-catching nail art.
A day in my life
After breakfast, I start filming content, either for my social media page or for brands. I spend up to eight hours filming each style. For detailed designs, I take a break to walk my dog and relax my hands. I then manage emails and edit content. I often like to end my day with a swim and jacuzzi session.
My inspirations
Many of my nail designs are inspired by prints that I find online, work by other nail artists and seasonal occasions, such as summer and Christmas.
Social media: My top tips
1. Lighting is key. You can have a great camera, but if the lighting is poor, your content won’t look good. You don’t need to buy expensive lights; two LED desk lamps are sufficient.
2. Be consistent and persistent. Don’t be discouraged if your content isn’t doing well. Engagement will fluctuate, but you must keep posting. Don’t hesitate to switch things up to see what resonates with followers.
3. Be kind, authentic and show your personality through your content. My favourite creators are those who aren’t afraid to be themselves. I always feel a stronger connection to them and their content.
Signature style
My signature style is a mix of funky French tips, smiley faces, stars and butterflies. I like variety and trying new nail art designs, so my work ranges from simple, classic looks to 3D art. I enjoy using products from Light Elegance, Gelcare and Glitterbels.
