Wigan-based salon owner & nail artist, JAKE WILDE, showcases his favourite nail creations & shares career hopes & goals

Name – Jake Wilde Age – 28

Business name – Haus Of Wildes Ltd.

Location – Golborne, Wigan, UK

Years in nails – I have been styling nails for six and half years. I ventured into the industry so that I could spend more time with my partner – now husband – Adam, who showed an interest in the artform first. What started as a hobby in our spare bedroom turned into a beautiful business, as we opened hair and beauty salon, Haus Of Wildes Ltd., in 2020. A career in nails was unexpected, but one I am thankful for every day.

Trained with – I learned various skills at Kimberley’s Makeup Studio & Academy in Golborne, and have since completed additional courses in nails and beauty to enhance my skillset and knowledge.

Favourite products – Throughout my nail career, I have tried a number of brands and products in order to determine what works best for me and the needs of my clients. Products from local brand, Mida’s Touch, and Kirsty Meakin are great quality, and the companies each offer a wide variety of shades and systems. This allows me to deliver my best work and create long-lasting results for clients.

Favourite nail technique – At the start of my nail journey, I loved using L&P acrylic, but my focus turned to builder gel and acrygel. Now, I experiment with a variety of systems to create the work I envision.

Favourite nail design – I enjoy encapsulating products to create eye-catching styles that keep clients talking.

Career ambition & vision – I want Haus Of Wildes Ltd. to be a household name: known as a space where everyone feels welcome. Adam and I, alongside our incredible team, work hard to create an environment where clients feel confident, empowered and proud, plus receive great treatments. I want those feelings to continue.

Personally, I strive to be recognised not only for the quality of my work, but for staying true to myself. My dream is to travel the world doing what I love and sharing my passion and talent with others.

Who do you admire in the industry? Kirsty Meakin has a huge heart, and makes everyone she meets feel important. Her knowledge and skillset are amazing. She is an inspiration and devotes so much time to this industry to help shape it for the better. I hope that I am able to make an impact as big as hers in the future.
