.OUT & ABOUT
The morning after The Scratch Stars Party, The GelBottle Inc hosted TGB Brunch & Learn: an educational workshop and meet-up. Giorgia Cappella, the brand’s head of education & spa, showcased TGB’s Magnetics range of gel polishes and demonstrated some inspiring cat eye designs. The event included a delicious breakfast, networking and insightful moments shared between nail techs.
CAT EYE ANIMAL PRINTS
Cat eye is one of this year’s biggest nail trends, and many professional brands have launched products to create the mesmerising effect. I like to combine the shimmer of cat eye gel polishes with bold animal prints, and have created four looks that are ideal for clients who love dark and stylish designs. The shifting shimmer of cat eye products elevates classic animal print patterns, resulting in stunning and dimensional finishes.
DESIGN 1: Eye of the tiger
Step 1 Apply silver cat eye gel polish over a cured black gel polish base. Gather the shine in the centre of the nail using a magnet in a circular motion, and cure.
Step 2 Dab brown jelly gel in a patchy pattern across the nail. Cure.
Step 3 Paint tiger stripes using black art gel and cure.
Step 4 Apply a glossy gel polish top coat and cure to finish.
DESIGN 2: Leopard luxe
Step 1 Apply up to two coats of black gel polish to the nails, curing after each layer. Follow with a coat of silver cat eye gel polish. Use a magnet to gather shine in the centre of the nail. Cure.
Step 2 Apply a coat of brown jelly gel and cure.
Step 3 Dab silver cat eye polish in small blobs across the nail and cure.
Step 4 Use black art gel to roughly outline the blobs, creating a leopard pattern. Cure, then apply top coat and cure to finish.

DESIGN 4: Snakeskin style
Step 1 Apply green or gold cat eye gel polish over a cured black gel polish base. Use a magnet to gather shine in the centre of the nail and cure.
