Flippin’ fun for Pancake Day
The editorial team enjoyed a pancake decorating contest in the office on Shrove Tuesday, with each member spending five minutes showcasing their artistic abilities with pink and black edible paints. The Scratch-themed pancakes were judged by CEO & publisher, Scott Derbyshire. He determined Helena’s pancake design, featuring #ShowScratch, a nail polish bottle and a Scratch Star, as the winner.

Helena, Rebecca and Lilly headed to the Professional Beauty trade show at ExCeL London on 3 March, where they chatted to members of the industry and unearthed handy tools and products to support pros. Rebecca posed for a pic at the Gelish stand with March’s issue of Scratch, which features the brand’s Now & Zen spring collection on the front cover. Demos were observed, and the team watched students and pros compete in Professional Beauty’s nail competitions, in collaboration with The FNP.

Helena is channelling the spring-friendly pistachio nail trend, courtesy of Dartford’s Rebecca Ellis (@beautyby__beck).Her almond-shaped enhancements feature the hue at the tips, with Champagne-coloured artistic elements created using gel paint.
Hazel Martin of Nail Creations by Hazel, Crawley, tended to Jess’ nails, applying The GelBottle Inc (TGB) gel polish hue, Brighton Rock. The shade is inspired by the seaside town where TGB was founded.
