COVERSTORY
PRISM PERFECTION
Embrace a kaleidoscope of colour this season with Gelish & Morgan Taylor’s Prism Blooms collection, as featured on this month’s cover. Scratch shares behind-the-scenes snaps & stories from the photo shoot
W hile spring nail colour collections are often packed with pastels, Gelish has elevated its 2026 offering with Prism Blooms: a mix of six pearl, crème and iridescent shades available in Soak-off Gel Polish, Xpress Dip N Brush Powder and Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer.
The hues reflect a love for ethereal nail styling, with an on-trend ‘90s twist: themes that are captured perfectly by the creatives behind this issue’s front cover shot. “We sought to capture an iridescent, mirror-like effect that feels bright, sunny and undeniably uplifting,” shares Liza Samala, art director at Nail Alliance – Gelish and Morgan Taylor’s parent company. “We wanted the look to catch the light in a way that feels almost alive – reflective, radiant and gently glowing. This luminous quality was designed to evoke a sense of freshness and optimism, while drawing the eye to the intricate brilliance of the nail design itself. The result is a cover that feels eye-catching and joyful, setting a positive tone at first glance and inviting the viewer to look a little closer.”
Liza worked closely with stylist, Adrianna Picarella, to select clothing and accessories to suit the vision. Photographer, Ruby Palma, supported on-set design to ensure that all visual elements felt cohesive and intentional. “To guide the creative direction, I provided detailed mood boards that aligned the team on tone, colour and texture,” Liza continues.
“The finished image radiates unmistakable spring energy, and beautifully demonstrates how the Prism Blooms collection can be mixed, matched and layered to create virtually unlimited colour combinations. When paired with Gelish Chrome Stix, the look gained even more dimension and shine, highlighting the versatility of the collection while encouraging creativity and experimentation.
“The energy of model, Analiese Yamasaki, perfectly complements the refreshing, vibrant vibe of the shot. I hope it sparks excitement for clients and pros alike, helping them embrace a carefree, playful spring season.”

NAIL TALK
On-set nail stylist, Erin Eng, was focused on achieving a sparkling, iridescent, mirror-underlay effect for the cover nails: a look that feels both modern and trend-forward. She developed multiple design concepts in advance of the shoot, which were reviewed by Gelish CEO & founder, Danny Haile, and the brand team. “They were deeply involved throughout the process, continually tapping into the latest movements within the nail industry for inspiration,” Liza shares. “By blending emerging trends with thoughtful design choices, we ensured that the final look felt current, innovative and visually impactful – catching the eye while feeling elevated and intentional.”
