Picture perfect with OPI
Jess Watts attended OPI’s Lunch & Learn event alongside the brand’s Nail Bosses and educators. Following a refresher on the OPI GELevate™ system led by Charlotte Lowe, education brand manager for UK&I, attendees enjoyed a workshop hosted by nail content creator & Scratch columnist, Zoya Mac. The session offered practical guidance on creating scroll-stopping social media content, alongside expert tips for capturing flawless nail photos. Turn to page 44 to read more insights from Zoya.
Seeing stars in Stockport
Helena headed to Stockport to check out the new venue for the Scratch Stars Awards practical judging day. Following 13 years at the London College of Beauty Therapy, the live assessments of finalists in the technical and artistic categories will take place in Trafford & Stockport College Group’s nail and beauty rooms, at the Stockport campus on 11 May. The college’s nail specialist & lecturer, Jacqueline O’Sullivan, was on hand to showcase the venue’s features and facilities. What we’re wearing...
Jess Watts made a splash with fish-themed nail art for her winter sun holiday. Trained in gel polish application, she used Mii Cosmetics Statement Gels and Glitterbels tools to perfect the playful, bold design.
A confetti-style mani by Stevenage-based nail pro, @nailsbyimogen__, caught Helena’s eye on Instagram, and she asked her regular nail tech, Rebecca Ellis of @beckthenailteck, to recreate the look. Rebecca used a subtly sparkling builder gel as a base, before replicating Imogen’s fun and colourful creation.
