A celebration of British beauty
Rebecca headed to London’s Royal Society of Arts for the Industry Hub: part of the British Beauty Council’s sixth British Beauty Week. The event brought together media, industry figures and policymakers, and began with talks from politicians, Baroness Luciana Berger and Kate Dearden MP. Topics included future beauty talent and trends, and there were demos from experts including make-up artist, Val Garland. The Council also announced its first sport ambassador: rugby player, Tatyana Heard, and showcased products including the AI nail studio from Umia Beauty.
What we’re wearing...
Helena embraced two seasonal nail trends last month: chocolate-coloured nails and polka dots. The dotty digits were crafted by Rebecca Ellis of Beck The Nail Teck in Dartford, Kent.
Art editor, Jess Wilkie, opted for a cool-toned overlay courtesy of Hazel Martin (Nail Creations By Hazel). The Crawley-based pro used Nail Stamping Queen’s Liquid Metals Chrome Gel Paint to create the shimmering effect.

Wild at heart
The editorial team each attended Nail Safari at Shepreth Wildlife Park for a day. The education extravaganza combines animal learning and experiences with nail training and workshops, and featured guest educators including Kirsty Meakin; Andreea Simona Ignat; Hazel Dixon; Jiak Hing and Krista Paulitti. Skills including mixed media artistry and extreme nail styling were explored, and the teams of ‘rangers’ (nail tech attendees) participated in various challenges to score points for prizes. Pamper paradise
Jess Watts paid a visit to Scratch Stars Nail Salon of the Year 2025, The Nail Group, for a day of pampering, polish and pure indulgence. She was given a tour of the premises before chatting to founder, Susan Nguyen, about the conceptualisation, growth and mission of The Nail Group. Jess was then treated to the Signature Luxury Manicure, courtesy of Anita, the salon’s supervisor & beauty pro, and opted for a burgundy gel polish finish. The day was permeated with joy, and the experience perfectly captured the essence of The Nail Group’s award-winning ethos.
