What we’re wearing...
For her January manicure, Helena opted for a serene navy blue hue with grey undertone. A glittering dot near the cuticle area was added, followed by TGB Cuticle Oil, courtesy of Rebecca Ellis aka @beautyby__beck.
On her visit to Shoreditch Nails’ studio, Rebecca embraced the January blues, opting for two coats of The GelBottle Inc’s Bolt colour for the base of her manicure. A coat of sheer shade, Glass Blue, was then layered over the top for extra wow factor.
Out and about
Senior news & features writer, Rebecca, headed to The Lanesborough Club & Spa, London, where plant-based nail brand, L’Atelier Green Paris, takes up residence. She was given a tour of the luxury venue by the brand’s co-founder, Yasmine Smatti, before nail tech, Alison, carried out the 24-carat Pure Gold Ritual. Rebecca was invited to smell a relaxing essential oil blend, prior to a gold mask being applied. The treatment finished with a manicure.

Nail Order co-founder, Rebekka Costello.
Managing editor, Helena, headed to Birmingham for Nail Order’s Sunday Service Event, which welcomed a vast number of nail pros from across the UK and Ireland. Seminars from Clawgasmic co-founder, Chantelle Johnson, and Boss Your Salon founder, Maddi Cook, were enjoyed, and nail artist, Anouska Anastasia, and Lotte Seymour of Manicure Roulette hosted Q&As.
‘Sunday School’ saw nail workshops take place, while The Play Room allowed pros to try Nail Order’s product range and brands showcased their ranges via pop-ups at The Sunday Market. Complimentary tarot card readings courtesy of Melissa Mercury proved popular and attendees networked throughout lunch, before many attended an afterparty at popular nightspot, Tonight Josephine.
Rebecca took a trip to where it all began for conscious brand, Shoreditch Nails: its studio in the Cleeve Workshops space in Shoreditch, London. She met founder, Tina Michael, to talk about the brand’s goals for 2024; for its Shoreditch and Dalston studios, academy and 81% bio-sourced nail polish range. Rebecca also indulged in agel polish manicure, courtesy of nail tech, Carmen.
