What makes me happy
I love going on holiday and experiencing different things, but am also happiest on the sofa with my boyfriend, chocolate Doberman and good food.
Signature style
Delicate and dainty. I love the clean nail aesthetic, but with the addition of cute nail art.
My inspirations
I use Pinterest for inspiration, but most often copy aspects from old designs. I am also inspired by homeware and have a mug collection, which has sparked ideas for numerous nail looks.
My nail journey
I started doing my own nails when I was around 16. I had visited WAH Nails in Topshop on Oxford Street, London, and found a love for nail art. I went on to start a nail account on Instagram in 2020.
I am qualified to offer gel enhancements and have a client base, however I am passionate about being creative without time constraints. I enjoy my current balance of content creation and welcoming clients into my cosy nail space, which features plenty of trinkets and is fragranced with a candle or oil diffuser.
A day in my life
I currently work a 9am to 5pm job from home outside of nails. Once I’ve logged off, I either see a nail client or plan and create content ideas. I’ve kept my client base small, so I have time to do both.
Social media advice
My Instagram account started to grow at the beginning of 2024. I was posting consistently, as I was aiming to hit 10k followers by my birthday in April. I achieved this and posted my first 3D creation, which has seen my profile grow further. I also have 15.2K TikTok followers (@brydiedoesnails), and find that the platform is more fast-paced than Instagram. A TikTok video of mine went viral and I gained a lot of followers, but it’s important to post regularly.
My top social media tips are:
1. Be consistent. If you are struggling to think of content ideas, repost or redo previous designs. This is a great way to see how far you have come in terms of skill!
2. Find a niche and lean into it. I used to feel pressure to create what is trending, but removing this has made content creation much more enjoyable.
3. Reply to comments. This is a great way to interact with followers and bring people back to your posts.
My 3D bug nails have been most popular on social media. I think it’s because they’re unusual and encourage viewers to appreciate art, rather than practicality.
Nail highlight
I’ve recently dipped my toes into brand collaborations, and am most proud of my work with toy company, Jellycat. To other pros that want to partner with brands, don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and message companies you want to work with directly.
