LILLY DELMAGE uncovers the hottest nail topics & tales across the ‘net, TV & social media & gets the scoop on celebrity beauty must-haves

#NOWTRENDING

Nail pros give the gift of great manicures, so wrap up seasonal nail creations with ribbon-inspired art, which is proving popular on social media. Check out our picks from Instagram:

Manicures that matter

During the US presidential campaign, singer, Demi Lovato, shared a symbolic manicure to encourage her Instagram followers to vote. Celebrity nail tech, Natalie Minerva, spelled the word ‘vote’ across nails in jewel embellishments.

Coined her ‘cinnamon nail’ look, Hailey Bieber has been sporting a deep brown manicure. Due to popular demand, celebrity nail artist, Zola Ganzorigt, shared a tutorial of how she achieved the star’s style. Get the look here

Actress, Bella Thorne, posted an Instagramreel featuring 40 photos of her elaborate nail looks, taken by her fiancé, Mark Emms. She wrote: ‘Mark’s been collecting my nail photos since we met. Get a man who matches your energy.”

Jazzy in jean

Music artist, Jazzy, flaunted a denim jacket, jeans and boots for the BRIT Awards, and extended the denim look to her fingertips. Higham-based nail tech, Sophie Donaldson of @sophiescosycorner, helped the star decide on the playful design before crafting the look.

MTV mani

Manchester-based nail artists, Lindsay Heigh and Eloise Chan, teamed up to create this alternative French manicure for singer-songwriter, Rita Ora, ahead of her presenting role at the MTV EMA Music Awards.

A STAR-STUDDED NIGHT

Session nail stylist, Michelle Class, added a gold star decal to a black cherry manicure for actress, Sophie Turner’s attendance at the Bazaar Awards, where she collected the Performer of the Year award.

Eye-catching talons

Singer, Chappell Roan, sported impressive manicures for her Saturday Night Live performances, courtesy of her go-to nail tech, Juan Alvear (@byjuanalvear).

It’s all eyes on Chappell with this black border gradient manicure. Alvear masters colour co-ordination, adding purple gem embellishments to the centre of the nails to match the singer’s make-up.

‘Peacock’ was the brief behind this dramatic design, featuring chained nail jewellery, seamlessly blended blue and green hues and golden embellishments to complement Roan’s outfit and make-up.

This oh-so sweet mani features honey drips atop a gingham base, channelling a picnic aesthetic.

Vampy for Vanessa

Vanessa Hudgens tapped into what her nail tech, Zola Ganzorigt, deems the ‘burgundy nail saga’ – referencing the hue dominating the fashion and beauty industries. The actress showed off the seasonal shade on long, almond-shaped talons.

A Wicked walkthrough

Actress & singer, Cynthia Erivo, plays lead character, Elphaba, in the Wicked movie, and is an OPI global brand ambassador. She has been papped wearing the character’s signature green shade and flaunting a series of impressive manicures by nail pro, Rose Hackle, during the film’s press tour. “We’ve been using a base of green, which is always our main colour – for obvious reasons,” the Wicked star told Vogue. “It’s a case of using the nails to connect the story of Elphaba.”

Designed to feel ‘dark, edgy and unapologetically fierce’, this manicure was worn by Cynthia for the Wicked movie premiere in Sydney, Australia. Hues used include OPI’s Midnight Snacc and Ozitively Elphaba.

For the Wicked star’s trip to The Academy Museum Gala, a multi-coloured style featured 3D silver serpents, neon flame cuticle cuffs and red jewel embellishments.

The magical world of Wicked cast a spell over Paris Fashion Week SS25, with Hackle incorporating rich red hues, sparkling silvers and warm browns alongside Elphaba’s signature green hue.

Cynthia sported this manicure at the launch event for the OPI x Wicked collaboration in New York City – the perfect look to introduce the enchanting colour collection inspired by the wonderful world of Oz.
