Exploring E-file use with PersoNAILity
Rebecca headed to PersoNAILity’s HQ in Stevenage to watch celebrity beauty pro & brand owner, Jenni Draper, lead E-file training.
Attendees were given a course handbook, which explained the uses of different E-file bits, as well as how to maintain them and use them safely. Jenni demonstrated E-file and bit techniques, before offering support to students as they practiced.
A wild adventure in Shepreth
Helena, Rebecca and Lilly each spent a day at Nail Safari: an education event at Shepreth Wildlife Park, hosted by a team of nail industry icons. They enjoyed learning about the park’s animals and conservation efforts, and witnessed nail art lessons from Hazel Dixon, Max Estrada and Kirsty Meakin. Turn to page 48 to read more about the event.
What we’re wearing...
A brushstroke-style design by Belgian nail artist, Béraude of @nailsuponatime, inspired Helena’s latest manicure. She visited her regular tech, Rebecca Ellis of @beautyby__beck, Dartford, Kent, who recreated the look using seasonal shades of burgundy and gold, alongside tones of pink.
Lilly chose a silver ombré manicure with red kiss-print decals at the Tinder x NO MORE ‘Nailing Dating’ event. The apt style was created by celebrity nail stylist, Chiara Ballisai.
It’s a match for dating & manicures
Dating app, Tinder, collaborated with non-profit organisation, NO MORE, to open a ‘Nailing Dating’ pop-up nail bar, and Lilly headed to London to check it out. The event offered complimentary gel polish manicures to attendees, with 10 nail art options – each linked to a piece of dating advice. Lilly chose a kiss-themed nail design, which was promoted with the tip: ‘Know and own your own truth.’ The two-day event also hosted panel talks that detailed tips for safe, empowering dating.
Drama delights
Helena and Lilly joined 100 The GelBottle Inc (TGB) pros at the brand’s Winter Showcase, held in a space within London’s St Martin’s Hotel. Attendees delighted in TGB’s Drama Gel Polish collection and watched TGB education manager, Giorgia Cappella, demo festive nail designs. Helena was part of a panel discussion focused on trends, alongside TGB founder & CEO, Daisy Kalnina, and TGB ambassador & content creator, Amber Hancock. Enlightened with new tips, tricks, knowledge and inspiration, attendees enjoyed an evening of cocktails, canapés and a drag queen performance.
A
Wicked
& wonderful event
The Curzon Cinema in Bloomsbury, London, called for Helena and Rebecca, who were invited to a screening of the Wicked movie courtesy of OPI. The brand has collaborated with Universal Pictures on a themed nail colour collection, and the OPI UK team indulged press and influencers in Oz-themed drinks, food and luxury OPI manicures, before seats were taken for the film.
