Trained with – I began my nail journey with NSI and learned how to sculpt using L&P acrylic, which I loved, as I didn’t enjoy working with tips. I have trained with Gelish and The GelBottle Inc and completed a number of nail art courses. Prior to my nail career, I attended art college, which has helped me immensely with my nail artistry.
Favourite products – I enjoy working with The GelBottle Inc products: particularly BIAB™ (Builder In A Bottle), which most of my L&P acrylic clients now prefer to wear on their nails.
Favourite nail technique – Textured nails aren’t for everyone, but I think that croc print, embossed chrome and water droplets are so effective.
Favourite nail design – Anything bright, quirky and psychedelic makes me happy. I like creating nail styles that are unique and imaginative, and turn to Pinterest for inspiration when clients give me free rein.
Career ambition & vision – I began my nail career working from a small desk in my mum’s living room, and now own a busy salon with a number of employees. I was approached to offer nail art sessions at a local youth club, which inspired me to become an educator. I completed an educator course with The Nail Tech Org and plan to offer training to small groups and via one-to-one courses. Nail art is my passion, and I have customised trainers using only nail products. I want to show others that nail styling is a useful and transferable creative skill.
Who do you admire in the industry? Amy Guy, founder of The Nail Tech Org, has been a pioneer for the nail industry. She has not only created a fantastic community, but a helpful platform for training. My creative inspiration is Su Nguyen of @sauvage_artistry, as his designs are amazing. I feel like there’s something for everybody on his Instagram feed. He is so talented.
